Do you understand the ten principles of injection mold design classification? The following is an introduction to these ten principles.
1. Clamping force consideration
The lateral clamping force of the mold is relatively small, so for large products with a large projected area, the direction with a large projected area should be placed in the opening and closing direction of the front and rear molds, while the side projection area with a small projected area should be considered as side parting.
2. Meet product release requirements
The parting line is to allow the product to be easily removed from the mold. Therefore, selecting the parting line position on parts with larger cross-sectional dimensions is a basic principle.
3. Parting line shape
For general products, a parting line perpendicular to the injection machine opening direction is usually used; other parting line shapes are only used in special cases. The parting line shape is based on the principle of easy processing and easy demolding. Like curved products, parting must be done according to its curvature.
4. Ensure product appearance and quality
The parting line should not be selected on the smooth outer surface of the product. Lines that affect the appearance, such as pinch lines, are not allowed on the appearance surface; for products with concentricity requirements, all parts with concentricity requirements should be placed on the same side to ensure their concentricity.
5. Determine direction
When determining the direction of the product in the mold, the parting line should be selected to prevent the product from forming side holes or side buckles, and avoid using complex mold structures.
6. Good demolding
Generally, the demolding mechanism is inside the moving mold, so when selecting the parting line, the product should be kept in the moving mold as much as possible after opening the mold. Therefore, for some places that may stick to the fixed mold, we often add an auxiliary demolding mechanism to the fixed mold.
7. Consider the transverse opening distance
Generally speaking, the distance of transverse mechanical mold opening is relatively small. Therefore, when selecting the parting line, the direction of opening and closing the front and rear molds should choose the direction with a longer core pulling distance, and the short direction should be considered as transverse parting.
8. Convenient mold part processing
When selecting the parting line, the mold should be divided into easily processed parts to reduce the processing difficulty.
9. Conducive to venting
When the parting line is used as the main venting, the parting line should be designed at the end of the plastic flow to facilitate venting.
10. R parting
For many products that use mold design parting, the parting line has a whole circle of R corners. In this case, the parting should consider R parting and sharp edges should not appear.
